I have always had an interest in food. Growing up with a Greek family in the restaurant business, food was a huge part of my life. Food meant family, celebration, and love...but it also meant guilt and shame. I have been there, going on diet after diet since I can remember. I remember hating my body so much that I became severely depressed. I remember feeling like I was alone and that there was no escape from these feelings. I remember that small voice in my head telling me that there is more to life than dieting and self-loathing, and this is why I have created Pretty Balanced RD.
Pretty Balanced RD is a space where all bodies and foods are welcomed without shame or judgment. It is a place for positivity, self-love, and gentle nutrition. Pretty Balanced RD is the voice I needed to hear when I was younger letting me know that everything was going to be ok, that food is not my enemy, and that my body is pretty amazing. I hope you find great joy in realizing how incredible you are and learn that health is more inclusive than simply diet and weight.
